The Creative DIRECT-THROW subwoofer design utilizes the most basic efficient techniques for optimal bass reproduction for its size and class. One main benefit is getting most of the usable energy from the loudspeaker to the listener.

Another benefit is that it complements where we usually place our subwoofer at home or at the office - beneath the desk, against a wall. This design allows it to take advantage of Acoustic Boundary Coupling (ABC), whereby the deepest bass energies are coupled by the boundaries adjacent to them resulting in higher bass outputs. In short, you get a relatively loud bass from a very compact subwoofer enclosure.
