Sound Blaster Central is currently available for iOS5 and Android 2.2 or above. Announcements will be made via the Creative website when support for new operating systems is available.
You can use Sound Blaster Central to connect your Sound Blaster Bluetooth audio devices, to switch between connected Bluetooth audio devices, and to set alarms from your Sound Blaster Bluetooth audio devices. Sound Blaster Central gives you mobile access to a full suite of advanced features, e.g. increase movie dialog levels for added clarity, or soften explosions so you won’t wake the family. We will progressively add more new features and tools to Sound Blaster Central to enhance user experience.
Newer versions of Sound Blaster Central will be made available for download from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. The Android version of Sound Blaster Central can also be found at Creative’s Support page.
Generally you are not required to have Internet access to use Sound Blaster Central for Bluetooth activities. However, you do need Internet access to access other resources such as Product Overviews, Demos, FAQs, or visit Soundblaster.com or Creative.com via the application.
We are able to take advantage of the larger screens on tablets to display more information. However, we need to optimize the display/layout for mobile phones as they generally have smaller screens. Nevertheless both tablet and mobile phone’s Central software will share an identical theme and look-and-feel.
Refer to your Sound Blaster Bluetooth device’s manual on how to set it to pairing mode. On Android devices, open the Sound Blaster Central and tap on the Bluetooth icon. Turn on Bluetooth by sliding the Bluetooth ON/OFF switch. From the list of detected Bluetooth devices, tap on the Sound Blaster Bluetooth audio device that you intend to connect with. On iOS devices, go to “Settings” “General” “Bluetooth”. Turn on Bluetooth and select the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device that you wish to connect with. You may explore the “Resources” icon in Sound Blaster Central for more details on how to connect with your Sound Blaster devices.
Some operating systems allow you to rename your Bluetooth speaker, while others do not. If your smart device’s operating system allows for this change, you will be able to rename your Bluetooth device via Sound Blaster Central’s “Edit” function.
On the Sound Blaster Central main screen, tap the “AirPlay” icon in the top left corner of the screen. Select the desired Bluetooth speaker and the audio stream will be directed to that speaker.
Power up the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device. For iOS devices, go to “General” “Bluetooth”. Select the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device that you intend to reconnect. For Android devices, tap Bluetooth icon on the Sound Blaster Central screen. On the “Device Manager” screen, there will be a list of discovered Bluetooth devices. Tap the Bluetooth device that you intend to reconnect.
Make sure that the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device is connected to Sound Blaster Central. Once connected, the Settings menu will be available on the main screen.
A Profile is a group of pre-determined audio settings that are customized to fit different genres of audio. There are multiple profiles within Sound Blaster Central to choose from. For example, Clear Dialog brings out the dialog in movies for maximum clarity, whereas Night Mode softens sudden volume spikes in movies, like explosions, so you don’t wake up the family.
This is possibly due to a recent system language change on your smart device. To resolve this, turn Bluetooth off and then back on, and then reconnect to your Sound Blaster Bluetooth device.
Some Android devices only provide you the option to set your alarm to ring on one device -- either your smart device or your Sound Blaster Bluetooth device. On some other Android devices, the alarm will, by default, ring on the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device only.
An alarm that rings during a call can be extremely disruptive. To avoid this, we have designed the product so alarms do not to go off during a call. This is to ensure that the call is not interrupted.
That’s because there are no other videos to be viewed. To return to the tutorials, click the “Done” and “Back” button at the top of the viewing window.
For iOS devices, go to “Settings” -> “Central” to turn the Welcome message on or off.
For Android devices, from the Sound Blaster Central main menu, press “Settings”. Check or uncheck the “Welcome Message” checkbox to turn the feature on or off.
