  1. 1. What is Sound Blaster Central? And what can I use it for?
    Sound Blaster Central is a central hub to manage and control your Creative Sound Blaster devices, with customized listening profiles and settings.
  2. 2. What are the operating systems that Sound Blaster Central supports?
    Sound Blaster Central is currently available for iOS5 and Android 2.2 or above. Announcements will be made via the Creative website when support for new operating systems is available.
  3. 3. What are the features of Sound Blaster Central?
    You can use Sound Blaster Central to connect your Sound Blaster Bluetooth audio devices, to switch between connected Bluetooth audio devices, and to set alarms from your Sound Blaster Bluetooth audio devices. Sound Blaster Central gives you mobile access to a full suite of advanced features, e.g. increase movie dialog levels for added clarity, or soften explosions so you won’t wake the family. We will progressively add more new features and tools to Sound Blaster Central to enhance user experience.
  4. 4. Where can I obtain newer versions of Sound Blaster Central?
    Newer versions of Sound Blaster Central will be made available for download from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. The Android version of Sound Blaster Central can also be found at Creative’s Support page.
  5. 5. Do I need to connect to the Internet to use Sound Blaster Central?
    Generally you are not required to have Internet access to use Sound Blaster Central for Bluetooth activities. However, you do need Internet access to access other resources such as Product Overviews, Demos, FAQs, or visit Soundblaster.com or Creative.com via the application.
  6. 6. Why are there differences between the display/layout of a tablet and a mobile phone?
    We are able to take advantage of the larger screens on tablets to display more information. However, we need to optimize the display/layout for mobile phones as they generally have smaller screens. Nevertheless both tablet and mobile phone’s Central software will share an identical theme and look-and-feel.

Bluetooth Connectivity Questions

  1. 1. How do I connect to my Sound Blaster Bluetooth device using Sound Blaster Central?
    Refer to your Sound Blaster Bluetooth device’s manual on how to set it to pairing mode. On Android devices, open the Sound Blaster Central and tap on the Bluetooth icon. Turn on Bluetooth by sliding the Bluetooth ON/OFF switch. From the list of detected Bluetooth devices, tap on the Sound Blaster Bluetooth audio device that you intend to connect with. On iOS devices, go to “Settings”  “General”  “Bluetooth”. Turn on Bluetooth and select the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device that you wish to connect with. You may explore the “Resources” icon in Sound Blaster Central for more details on how to connect with your Sound Blaster devices.
  2. 2. Can I name/rename my Bluetooth speakers?
    Some operating systems allow you to rename your Bluetooth speaker, while others do not. If your smart device’s operating system allows for this change, you will be able to rename your Bluetooth device via Sound Blaster Central’s “Edit” function.
  3. 3. How do I switch audio output to another connected Bluetooth speaker in iOS?
    On the Sound Blaster Central main screen, tap the “AirPlay” icon in the top left corner of the screen. Select the desired Bluetooth speaker and the audio stream will be directed to that speaker.
  4. 4. How do I reconnect to a Sound Blaster Bluetooth device that was previously disconnected/turned-off?
    Power up the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device. For iOS devices, go to “General”  “Bluetooth”. Select the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device that you intend to reconnect. For Android devices, tap Bluetooth icon on the Sound Blaster Central screen. On the “Device Manager” screen, there will be a list of discovered Bluetooth devices. Tap the Bluetooth device that you intend to reconnect.

  1. 1. How do I access the Settings of my Sound Blaster Bluetooth device?
    Make sure that the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device is connected to Sound Blaster Central. Once connected, the Settings menu will be available on the main screen.
  2. 2. What are Profiles in the Sound Blaster Central?
    A Profile is a group of pre-determined audio settings that are customized to fit different genres of audio. There are multiple profiles within Sound Blaster Central to choose from. For example, Clear Dialog brings out the dialog in movies for maximum clarity, whereas Night Mode softens sudden volume spikes in movies, like explosions, so you don’t wake up the family.
  3. 3. Why can’t I view the Speaker and Microphone settings on Sound Blaster Central?
    This is possibly due to a recent system language change on your smart device. To resolve this, turn Bluetooth off and then back on, and then reconnect to your Sound Blaster Bluetooth device.

  1. 1. Why does my alarm not reactivate after I press the Snooze button?
    This is due to power management differences in some Android devices.
  2. 2. I would like my alarm to ring on both my smart device and my Sound Blaster Bluetooth device. Is this possible?
    Some Android devices only provide you the option to set your alarm to ring on one device -- either your smart device or your Sound Blaster Bluetooth device. On some other Android devices, the alarm will, by default, ring on the Sound Blaster Bluetooth device only.
  3. Why does my alarm not ring on my Sound Blaster Bluetooth device when I’m taking a call on it?
    An alarm that rings during a call can be extremely disruptive. To avoid this, we have designed the product so alarms do not to go off during a call. This is to ensure that the call is not interrupted.

  1. 1. Why do I see a blank page after clicking the “Next” button when viewing the tutorials?
    That’s because there are no other videos to be viewed. To return to the tutorials, click the “Done” and “Back” button at the top of the viewing window.
  2. 2. How do I turn on/off the Welcome message?

    For iOS devices, go to “Settings” -> “Central” to turn the Welcome message on or off.

    For Android devices, from the Sound Blaster Central main menu, press “Settings”. Check or uncheck the “Welcome Message” checkbox to turn the feature on or off.
