  1. 1. What is Creative Central? And what can I use it for?

    Creative Central is an application that simplifies your usage of wireless audio applications and speakers. With Creative Central on your smart device, you can now manage your various wireless connections (Bluetooth headsets/headphones/speakers with their customized applications) by launching just one application.

    Do check regularly Apple’s App store or Google’s Play Store for app upgrades.

  2. 2. What operating systems (OS)s are supported?
    Creative Central is currently available on iOS5 and Android 2.2 or later. Announcements regarding support for new OSs will be published via Creative website, Apple’s App Store or Google’s Play Store.
  3. 3. What are the features of Creative Central?
    Creative Central connects all your Bluetooth audio devices allowing you to switch easily between devices. Creative Central supports Creative D3xm, D5xm, DSxm speakers providing you access to a full suite of advanced features - enhanced modular setup, Room Calibration, as well as Sound Modes that increase movie dialogue levels for better clarity, and soften explosions so you don’t wake up the family).
  4. 4. Where can I download Creative Central?
    The latest version of Creative Central can be downloaded from Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store. An Android version of Creative Central can also be found at Creative’s Support page, http://support.creative.com.
  5. 5. Do I need to connect to the Internet to use Creative Central?
    Generally, you are not required to have an Internet access to use Creative Central for Bluetooth activities. However, you do need an Internet connection to access other resources such as Product overviews, Demos and FAQ.
  6. 6. Creative Central looks different on my tablet and on my mobile phone. Are they the same?
    Yes, the Creative Central software for tablets and mobile phones are the same. They share identical features, themes and look-and-feel design. The only difference is that the larger screens of tablet devices allow for more information to be displayed.
  7. 7. What is the difference between "Creative Central" and "Creative Centrale" used in several Creative's MP3 players?

    The "Creative Centrale" used in several of our MP3 players is a media management tool, which helps you manage your media files, such as music, photos & videos allowing file transfers to respective Creative MP3 players.

    The new "Creative Central" is however, a tool that centralizes the management of your Bluetooth audio devices. It also includes features that enhance your audio experience with your Bluetooth smart devices.

  8. 8. What is the difference between "Creative Central" and "Sound Blaster Central" used in the Sound Blaster products?

    These are two different applications. While "Creative Central" is an app that enables the enhanced features of Creative D5xm / D3xm / DSxm speakers, the "Sound Blaster Central" is the app that provides you control over your Sound Blaster products.

    Both "Creative Central" and "Sound Blaster Central" are downloadable at Apple's App Store or Google's Play Store

Questions About Bluetooth Connectivity

  1. 1. How do I connect to my Bluetooth speaker using Creative Central?

    Different Bluetooth speakers have slightly different ways of setting up a Bluetooth connection. Establishing Bluetooth connections for different OSs also vary. In general, you need to power ON the Bluetooth speaker. Press-and-hold the Bluetooth connect button until it blinks in quick succession.

    For iOS devices: Go to Settings → General → Bluetooth menu. Turn on Bluetooth and select the Bluetooth speaker you wish to connect to.

    For Android devices: On the Creative Central screen, tap the Bluetooth icon and choose Scan to start scanning for any Bluetooth speaker. From the list of Bluetooth devices, tap the preferred Bluetooth speaker. Press-and-hold and select Pair to start the paring process.

    For older generation of Android devices, another step may be needed. Press-and-hold the connected Bluetooth speaker until a popup menu appears and then select Connect.

    Note: You may need to enter a pass code to connect to your Bluetooth speaker. (Refer to your Bluetooth speaker manual for the pass code.)

    To explore connecting to specific models of Creative Bluetooth speakers, click the Resources icon on Creative Central.

  2. 2. I have successfully paired my Bluetooth devices, but I still could not hear any music/sound. What should I do?
    Unlike smart devices, Bluetooth pairing using stereo-enabled computers and third-party USB Bluetooth dongles/other devices may require more steps to complete the process. Establishing a Bluetooth connection using computers may require a manual setup of the audio output, e.g. selecting “Creative xxxx” (Bluetooth name of speaker), under sound and audio devices section on your computer’s operating system. Please consult your manufacturer's documentation for more information.
  3. 3. Is it possible to rename my Bluetooth speakers?
    This depends on the Operating Systems (OS) of the device. Some OS allow you to rename the Bluetooth speaker while others do not. Since Creative Central is a cross-platform software, it caters for this via its Edit function according to the OSes permission.
  4. 4. How do I switch audio output to another connected Bluetooth speaker on my iOS device?
    On the Creative Central main screen, tap the AirPlay icon and select the desired Bluetooth speaker. The audio stream will then be directed automatically to that speaker.
  5. 5. How do I re-connect to a Bluetooth speaker that was previously disconnected/turned-off?

    For iOS devices: Power ON the Bluetooth speaker. Go to General → Bluetooth menu, and tap the Bluetooth speaker that you intend to re-connect.

    For Android devices: On the Creative Central screen, tap-and-hold the Bluetooth speaker that you intend to re-connect. When a popup menu appears, select Connect.

  6. 6. After changing the language settings on my iPhone/iPad, the settings for Sound Modes became disabled. How do I enable my Sound Modes?
    The Sound Modes settings for D3xm, D5xm will not be displayed after changing the system language. To show the Sound Modes setting, turn off and turn on Bluetooth and reconnect to the D3xm, D5xm after changing the system language.

  1. 1. When viewing the video tutorials, why do I see a blank page after clicking the Next button?
    This happens only when there is no other video tutorial on the Playlist. To return to the tutorials, click the Done button found at the top of the viewing window. Click the Back button to display the next tutorial.
  2. 2. How do I turn on/off the Welcome message?

    For Android devices: From the Creative Central main menu, press the Menu icon and select Settings. Tap the checkbox beside the Welcome message to turn it on, or uncheck to turn it off.

    For iOS devices: Launch Settings and slide down to the last section on the Settings page, Select Central and tap On or Off to turn on/off the Welcome message.

  3. 3. What do i do when I feel that something is not right with the Creative Central app and that it may not be performing the way it should?

    For iOS devices: Exit the application. Double-click the Home button to reveal the multitasking bar. Press-and-hold the Central icon to end the application. Alternatively, you may also want to power OFF/ON your phone after ending the application from the multitasking bar.

    For Android devices: First, exit the application and launch the Task Manager. End Creative Central application. You many also want to power OFF/ON your phone after ending the program from the Task Manager.
