We have great news to share! We’ve completed the Development (Mechanical and Design) stage for the X-Fi Sonic Carrier, and we’re going to proceed to Manufacturing stage.
Just this week at CES 2017, we have set up an exclusive listening suite for the Sonic Carrier at The Venetian Las Vegas. We are very proud to showcase our final production model, and it’s a delight to see the audience completely bowled over by its audio prowess. If you’re around the area, please feel free to visit us to experience it for yourself! (more…)
Hope everyone had a great start to 2017.
We are happy to share with you a picture of the final remote control that goes with your X-Fi Sonic Carrier. You will find it comforting that when you’re enjoying the best audio experience out of your Sonic Carrier, you’ll also have control at your fingertips.
DTS:X is the latest technology from DTS and delivers immersive moving surround sound that now includes a height element. It is also a superset of all preceding DTS releases. This will allow you to experience the latest surround sound technology content supported by the format with X-Fi Sonic Carrier. (more…)
In our quest to deliver the best possible audio performance, the X-Fi Sonic Carrier has been updated with improved up-firing tweeters: (more…)
The Acoustics Team’s next challenge was to evaluate the possibility of improving the immersive experience from the X-Fi Sonic Carrier. After a few rounds of review, the engineers have arrived at a verdict that there was room for improvement for the side-firing drivers.
As mentioned in the previous post, the X-Fi Sonic Carrier is designed with bespoke drivers to achieve a high level of design optimization. Other than improving the original tweeters, the Acoustics Team was also tasked to improve the manufacturability of the midbass drivers, as the original ones were impeded by cosmetic finishing issues. The issues were traced to the particular grade of aluminum alloy used, which imposed manufacturing constraints in achieving the right finishing quality. Given this situation, our engineers saw this as an opportunity to further improve the performance, in addition to its manufacturability. (more…)
Hi, everyone! We know it’s been a long time since our last update. For the past month, our engineers have been cracking their heads on ways to further improve the performance of the X-Fi Sonic Carrier. Pardon us for the silence, but here’s the first update our engineers are working on.
The subwoofer now also comes in an optional super premium high-gloss piano finish. This finishing involves applying 7 layers of coating where each layer is painstakingly hand-polished, spray-coated, and baked overnight. This arduous process is repeated 7 times over a period of 7 days to achieve an enviable high-gloss piano finish. With this new premium finishing, the subwoofer is bound to become a head-turner in your living room. (more…)
Our engineers have been working on improving the subwoofer, and voila, this brings us our second version! In a nutshell, you would see the following upgrades:
- Bigger Drivers (10-inch)
- Bigger Size
With the X-Fi Sonic Carrier, our engineers initially amped up the storage capacity with four memory compartments that comes in the form of four microSD slots. There’s no denying that they can be over-indulgent. However, this can come handy to users who wish to jam pack their audio device full of media. Even if you don’t, you’ll be glad to have that safety net knowing that the storage is there when you need it.
It’s an interesting feature, you might ask, “Why do all the memory card slots cater to microSD cards only? What about SD card?” So yes, Junglejim – we’ve heard you! In fact, he wasn’t the only one who thinks this way.
As you know, the Sonic Carrier is constantly evolving. You asked and we listened. Our awesome engineers have thus taken your valuable feedback into consideration and incorporate them in our upcoming second prototype.
