What is USB Video Class?

USB Video Device Class Specification provides a standard to which hardware manufacturers can build USB video streaming devices while operating system developers can create a single class driver. This provides scalable device cost and complexity, and supports high-quality video and audio synchronization in addition to single and multiple function devices. It is video format-neutral, supporting video formats such as MPEG2, MPEG4 and frame-based MJPEG and DV.

UVC certified webcams such as the Creative Live! Cam Optia AF or the Live! Cam Video IM Pro (VF0410) requires no driver installations to run. Simply plug in the camera to start video chatting! You can now enjoy greater portability with your webcam and use it conveniently and easily on any computer without having to worry about downloading or bringing your drivers along!
