How many songs can I load in my player?
|
|
The number of songs you can load on your player varies, depending on the size of the music files, or other files stored on your player.
Your player's Music library can accommodate up to 4,000 tracks. This means that your player can contain more than 4,000 songs, but when you view these on the Music menu, the player only displays the first 4,000 song titles.

Why are some files corrupted after loading to my player?
|
|
The file transfer process may have been interrupted. When loading files to your player, avoid disconnecting your player until the file transfer is completed.
To safely disconnect your player after transferring files, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Taskbar.

Can my player play files that are stored in subfolders ?
|
Yes, your player can play files that are stored in multilevel folders.
To ensure that your player functions smoothly, it is best that you keep the folder structure simple, and minimize the subfolder levels (not more than 6 levels). Also, make sure that your media files are located in the appropriate main folders (Music, Video, and Pictures).
Tip: If you use Creative Centrale to load media files to your player, the files are automatically placed in corresponding folders.

What types of photo formats are supported by my player?
|
Your player displays JPEG (.jpg) photos.
For other photo formats, use Creative Centrale to load these files to your player. Creative Centrale converts photos to a file suitable for viewing on the player.

What is DRM and what type of DRM music can I play on my player?
|
|
DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. It is a form of copy protection for music and subscription content purchased from online music stores. Your player is a mass storage class (MSC) device that supports purchased music in the Windows Media® DRM (WMDRM) 9 format.
To load WMDRM 9 music to your player, use Creative Centrale or Windows Media Player (WMP) 9 (or later). Before loading WMDRM 9 content, play the content once first on WMP 9 (or later). This activates the purchase license, which enables you to subsequently load the content to a different location, subject to the conditions of your purchase agreement.

Why do error messages appear when I load copy-protected music to my player?

Your player supports Windows Media DRM (WMDRM) 9 content. Music files that use other forms of copy protection cannot be transferred or played on your player. Some content from online music stores may not be loaded to portable devices, or there may be a limit on the number of transfers. For details, contact your online music store.

Why does my player skip certain music tracks?
|
The track may be corrupted, or is not in a format supported by your player. Check the following:
- The track is in a format supported by your player (.mp3, .wma, .wav).
- If the music track is copy protected, make sure that you load it to your player using Creative Centrale, and not Windows Explorer.

What types of video formats are supported by my player?
|
Your player plays videos that are in CMV (.cmv) format. This is the format that results when you use Creative Centrale to load videos to your player. So be sure to use Creative Centrale as it automatically converts videos to a format suitable for your player.
Some of the more common videos that Creative Centrale supports include those with the following file name extensions: .wmv, .avi, .mpg, .mp4, .mov, .asf, .m4v, .dat.
However, some files may still require you to install certain codec(s) before you can play or convert these.

What is the maximum file size that my ZEN MX can play?
|
Your ZEN MX player can play media with a file size of up to 2 GB. For videos, this size limit applies to the final CMV (.cmv) file, the format that results after you load videos to your player with the use of Creative Centrale.
For your convenience, Creative Centrale calculates the resulting file size before it converts videos, and will not proceed if the calculated CMV file is 2 GB or more.
To load media greater than 2 GB (such as lengthy videos), you may want to break this into different parts with the use of a video-editing software of your choice. You can then individually load each part to your player by using Creative Centrale.

How do I play or view files from a memory card?
|
|
You can play or view files from a memory card in a similar manner as when you play from the player's internal memory. From the main menu, select Memory Card, and then select Music, Videos, or Pictures. A library for each of these categories will be available for each memory card. Similarly, the card's Music library will only display the first 4,000 songs.
If you later decide to import from a memory card, this will load all music or all photos to your player. The newly imported files will be incorporated to the player's library once you restart the player, and you no longer need to have the memory card inserted in the player.
Also, since your player creates a folder for imported files, you can still view and play these files exclusively. In the case of music files, select Music > Imported Music.

Yes. Your player is a mass storage class (MSC) device and is recognized as a removable disk by your computer. You can use Windows Explorer to move or copy files to and from your player.
If a memory card is inserted in the player, the computer recognizes the memory card as another removable disk aside from your player.
